Certification Highlights

1. Universal Robots MotionPlus Certified

SANMOTION G drives are now listed among MotionPlus-supported servos, ensuring compatibility and high-performance communication over EtherCAT.

2. 7th Axis Motion Support

  • Linear pedestal extension for increased reach
  • Vertical lift axis for overhead and stacking operations
  • Side-way axis for lateral positioning and transfer tasks
  • External rotary axis coordination for part indexing and orientation

3. Expanded Cobotic Applications

  • Pick-and-place and machine-tending over extended work envelopes
  • Palletizing, packaging, and synchronized material handling
  • Tool changing, assembly, and inspection tasks requiring precise supplemental axes

“This certification underscores our dedication to open automation standards such as EtherCAT and ease of integration with market leader, Universal Robot” said Zhiping Yu, Asst. National Sales Manager of SANYO DENKI AMERICA. “With SANMOTION G and UR MotionPlus, users gain a robust, easy-to-configure 7th-axis solution—backed by sub-millisecond synchronization and industrial-grade EtherCAT communications.”

About SANMOTION G

The SANMOTION G series combines compact, high-torque servo motors with a standalone single-axis EtherCAT amplifier platform. Delivering precision positioning and power ranging 50 W to 5kW. It features absolute battery-less or incremental encoder support, cyclic synchronous position mode, and distributed clock for deterministic multi-axis coordination.
